Fender Squier Telecaster - “Koyuki”
My weapon of choice.
30 Day Song - Day 06: A song that reminds you of somewhere
Beck MCS (DyBre feat. Koyuki) - Moon On The Water
PLACE: Dayo Bar
Why this? It’s just like when they asked Koyuki why he chose to sing Moon On The Water:
“Because of special memories.“
This song reminds me of Dayo Bar (and an event by S.O.N.) This is one of the songs that started it all. First gig. First time for me to sing in a place where all the people watching you are musically inclined. Nervousness at it’s finest. The first song I performed was “Hit In The U.S.A.” by Beat Crusaders (Beck’s OST and yeah I performed j-rock music before and still a fan) but this one (the Moon On The Water) is much more memorable because I sang this song twice at the same bar but different gigs. The second time I sang this is the first time I felt deep appreciation from the eyes of the audience watching me. Cameras flashing at first but when we started to perform the audience were watching and listening to us enthusiastically. Looking at the audience’s enthusiasm makes you say “I’m gonna perform for life. or I’ll make good music someday.” Oh, I still remember this random rocker chick (i can’t remember her face now T_T) that has a camera and started taking pictures of me and my band then suddenly stares at me while I sing. Talk about *kilig* moment for a bit. But unfortunately, me being the torpe totoy back then didn’t get to know her name or number or whatever. I wonder where is she now? If you’re reading this message me! LOL
Anyways, this song is one of my faves 2nd to Eyes On Me. Oh and I heard news that Dayo Bar is long gone. That’s just too sad. Tsk!
And FYI The members of the band I’m in back then on my first gig was: Me(Vocals), Peace(Guitar 1), Ariel(Guitar 2), Noel(Drums), & Alex/Axel(?)(Bass) and we were called “The Peace Band” Nyahahaha… Rakenrol to my old friend and former guitarist, Peacegle the guitar GOD for the band’s name!
